CBSOA Scholarship
The California Boating Safety Officers Association (CBSOA) has an annual scholarship competition awards program open to any currently enrolled undergraduate college student, high school senior enrolled in an accredited college, or a student enrolled in an accredited trade school. To apply, the applicants must be a direct dependent/ descendant of an active or retired member in good standing. A deceased CBSOA member must have been in good standing for their dependent to qualify for the scholarship. Our current scholarship application window is open. 2023
Madison Matthews
This year’s first place winner is Madison Matthews. She was awarded $2000 to be used for her education. Madison Matthews is currently attending College of San Mateo.
2022
Emma Miller
Emma Miller is currently attending San Diego State University and is studying Public Health and hoping to attend graduate school to be either a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner. Emma loves to SCUBA dive and has been since age 15.

Colin Campbell
Colin Campbell is in New Mexico attending St. Johns College in Santa Fe and is studying basic taxonomy, math literature, philosophy, and the ancient Greek language. Colin hopes to have a diverse education to help him become more adaptable in this quickly changing world. He wants to work in law, government, or business.

Ryen Carroll
This year’s second place winner is Ryen Carroll, and she was awarded $1000 to be used for her education. Ryen Carroll is currently attending American River College.
